Ingredients

  • Uncooked Diced Thighs 5 Cups
  • Corn Starch 3 Tbsp
  • Garlic 1 Clove
  • Fresh Ginger, Grated 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic, Minced 4 Cloves
  • Chili Flakes 1/2 tsp
  • Apple Juice 1/3 Cup
  • Honey 2 Tbsp
  • Brown Sugar 1/4 Cup
  • Ketchup 1/4 Cup
  • Cider Vinegar 3 Tbsp
  • Water 1/4 Cup
  • Bourbon 1/4 Cup
  • Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos* 1/4 Cup

Directions:

  1. Except for Brown Sugar, mix all sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Add Brown sugar to taste.
  2. Place chicken in slow cooker, pour sauce over top. Cover and cook on low 6-7 hours or on high 3 hours.
  3. Remove chicken and strain liquid into a small pot and cook on medium heat. Combine water with cornstarch and whisk into boiling sauce along with garlic. Stir until thickened.
  4. Pour sauce over chicken on a bed of rice or pasta.

*For Gluten-free recipe, substitute Coconut Aminos for soy sauce.
